IN MY OPINION

In this unit we can see how the pre -telling, telling and post -telling develops.

It’s very important as future teachers to understand the purpose of these activities, we always introduce our students to what they will do in that class, so that we motivate and can cope easily with the activity, it’s called pre- telling. 

After we see the important part of the class, where we will present the content, telling.

And finally at the classroom we reinforce the post -telling a series of activities that helps students learn the content correctly.

In my opinion is very important to do these three steps in teaching in the classroom, because we can introduce new vocabulary in a motivating way, we can introduce new technologies in the classroom so that the students can use them to the best of their ability.... In the blog both in this unit and in the next you can find examples of this way of working.

ACTIVITY 3: CHRISTMAS ELF

In this story we can introduce some questions about Christmas, so that the children can describe why Christmas is special and what they can do on those days.

 

After finishing the story the teacher explains to students that we also have our class Christmas Calendar and we do many of the things that Elf has done and the teacher presents the Christmas calendar and what will be done each day, one day we will do the letter to Santa Claus, another day will do a mural with the students who can also decorate the tree and design  a Christmas card for their parents on other days . Here we find these activities more specified  and what we will need for each:

 

1.       Write your letter to Santa Claus

2. Decorating the Christmas Tree : they will need shoeboxes (we can ask them to ask their parents to provide these to make it easier ) . Students will distribute them to a series of tabs where Christmas ornaments will appear and which will be painted  (and with finger paints , with crayons , waxes , brush ... chosen by the teacher ) . Then we will cut embellishments the students will hang up each within its box to form the tree. We can also encourage students to decorate boxes inside gomets for example .

Finally we put all the boxes together like a Christmas tree which we can see :

 

3. Making a Christmas Postcard : either we remove it as a tab where students just color or let their own imagination take over and let them design their own.

 

(If you work the corners in the class after watching the video we can include the Christmas costumes in a corner of the classroom) .

 

Last but not least while performing the activities we can introduce a Christmas song in the classroom. As examples we present these two simple vocabulary Christmas songs:

 

 

 

ACTIVITY 4:LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

THIS STORY IS FOR 7-8 YEAR OLDS, as it is a familiar story we could do as,  an activity where the class is divided into groups and will perform a play of the same story , the teacher performs the script and distribute what to say for each character .

You can tell the children to bring the costumes from home, it is the teacher who provides them or puts them together done in class for example:

But the children must represent the story of Little Red Riding Hood as they want, here you have some examples about students who they represent the story of different forms (we need to improve the creative of our children):

Another thing that you can do is to create a new ending for your story, in groups of five or six students you present the webpage of go animate and introduce your creation, and after the students can their new stories about Little red riding Hood
